| Coaching |
| Vernalis Coaching programs are designed to make a positive difference to individuals and through their accelerated learning and development, to organisations. Our coaching methodology enables our coaches to iteratively and consensually identify and maintain focus on the point of change, prepare a planned response to it, and support its execution. The coaches facilitating this process, empathetically connect with the coachees and guide them through the often times painful journey by their own commitment to bridge the knowing-doing gap, a commitment to walking the development path themselves that they encourage others to take. |

| Why Coaching? |
| An Organisation View |
Organisation contexts in which coaching have been considered and deployed include:
Objective-based Coaching: In this case, coaching to one or more individuals is considered to meet an objective, e.g. selection for a program, meeting minimum performance standards, CEO coaching for better team cohesiveness, etc.
Coaching on one or more competencies: Another common context has been to coach a group of individuals on one or more competencies. These are usually shortlisted from the organization’s competency framework.
Regardless of the trigger for coaching interventions, Organisations must sharply identify the expected outcomes from the coaching intervention and ensure they link to their business objectives and their unique needs. |

| An Executive View |
In recent years, the work environment has become fast-paced, complex, and constantly changing. One key competency that helps an executive to effortlessly succeed in such an environment is learning orientation. It helps the executive to be open to change, to intelligently and easily discard irrelevant ways of working and enthusiastically seek out and accept new ways of working.
However, often times, the lever of change is inaccessible to an individual by himself. This is where coaching can be useful. A coach becomes a catalyst for accelerated learning in an agreed and pre-determined vital aspect of their development. The onus of learning is on the coachee, a coach only accelerates it. |

| Our Coaches |
| All Vernalis coaches have rich industry experience which enables them to connect with the client context, business objectives and unique organisation needs. All undergo over 8 weeks of rigorous skill building on Evidence Based Coaching at Vernalis. The coaches meet regularly to support and challenge each other and to exchange best practices. |
| |
| Our Methodology |
Our coaching methodology relies on assessment (if required, with assessment centers) to clearly identify the gap between current and desirable behaviours. The assessments create a strong awareness in all participants for the need and extent of change.
This is immediately followed by a development module which gives a taste of successful development to participants, and an Individual Development Plan evolved consensually that forms the basis for coaching.
During the follow-up coaching sessions, various formats get deployed - including one-on-one Meetings, telephonic discussions, Observation in Live Work Situations, Assignments & Practice Sets, Simulation Based Learning (ADC's) etc. The assignment culminates with a test to measure the effectiveness of the coaching intervention. |
